New Track Out Now: MANZANERA BLUES by Elson Complex
Elson Complex is a fingerstyle acoustic guitarist and songwriter. Since April 2019, his acoustic guitar tunes MANZANERA, LANGUAGES and VESTIGES have gradually been included in over 50 playlists on Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer (see below).
I think, Elson already mentioned somewhere that he started again to play acoustic guitar when his mum was diagnosed with AD. He bought her a small drum (see cover MANZANERA BLUES) and started to play music with her. His new track MANZANERA BLUES is short. It's minimal music. In triple time. Well, almost ;-)
But much more importantly, Elson is at peace. Right now. Right in this track. Let's see for how long.
About VESTIGES - In an attempt to defy stereotypical song structures, Elson Complex creates an oscillating flow of sound with an anesthetic pulse beat, both determined by the relation and permutation of calm and rapid rhythm patterns in combination with melodic phrases. What? Just enjoy!
Richardine Bartee of GRUNGECAKE on Twitter: "Everyone does Sunday differently. Some of us want to be in silence. Others go to church or party. If you like to chill out, VESTIGES by Elson Complex may help you get there or stay there."
Acid Ted on his blog of the same name: "It’s Spanish guitar but VESTIGES has a structure I’d more associate with electronic music. The repeated phrases act almost like beats or percussion. It ends up with something that really approaches drone in the way that it’s constantly circling back on itself. Like a echo coming back again and again. But with enough finger-style melody to give it an extra layer that lifts it up and up. Wonderful."
Henry Gonzalez on www.musicto.com: "In these fast paced, exhausting times, sometimes we need music that can allow us to change our pace. VESTIGES is a great piece to do so, even though it feels like an evocative desperation occurring in simpler times."
